Loved this conversation. I did the same thing about 6 months ago of removing all my "sexy" photos from Instagram. While I loved the photos and wanted to express myself creatively, I also began to realize that everyone could see them and I didn't really want that / didn't want to be showing that side of myself to just anyone. Since then I have been happy to keep them private but would like to turn them into a physical print book so they can still serve a purpose and not just sit in my camera roll.
Hi Hayley, thanks for your response! We should def widen the field of possibilities and not limit or define ourselves by Instagram. It's so interesting you are experiencing the same feelings about it, and I'm glad I started this newsletter as an alternative thing to explore and communicate with people! As Gandhi wisely said "Be the change you want to see" :)
Absolutely! I’ve also noticed this same dilemma in real life too. I tend to wear more revealing / sexual clothing and I think men tend to view me in a certain way because of it or assume that it means they can openly stare at me, etc. Just because I dress in a way that makes me feel good doesn’t mean I’m easy or slutty or an invitation for anything.
It’s ironic that rather than listen to the audio or read the post, you focus only on the sexy photos. Your comment is exactly what we discuss in this podcast... how men see a woman’s sexy selfie and take it as an invitation to express their opinion on it. Or maybe you just lack the attention span to listen to a 40 minute audio?
Yes it is sexy ! great ! ...and it is also funny to look at in a certain way: for instance putting the background in front as the main topic :details like the toilet paper roll color, the toilet seat up or down a woman/man thing :-)), or trying to recognize the cosmetics brand
