Hello everybody!

I thought this month I’d share more about my playlists & Shazam’s to start this new year in a good “musical” mood. As you might know i’m passionate about discovering & rediscovering old songs from the past and blend it with more contemporary music.

The secret of a good mix or playlist is like the seasoning a meal: it's all about the right blend, a delicate tweaking of ingredients, proportions and patience.

I'm often Shazaming from random places to the backseat of an uber, youtube DJ mixes, a radio podcast or after house parties. It takes time to create your own musical journey, sometimes I will spend hours listening to random playlists to get one good song! its really a lifetime of hard work.

I often get asked about the track list I choose to play regarding different types of events, like if i play for a nightclub, a fancy warm up or a private event. How do you choose the right tracks for the right situation?

Well, I am giving you my secret: it’s all the same! I always play the same songs, the only difference is the timing.

If you look at the people and read their body language you will feel when the time is right to play a song. From my experience, I’ve always learnt a lot from the atmosphere, the light & energy of a dancefloor.

I believe everyone has a different sensibility and sense of seeing the world which makes every situation unique! This is what I like about discovering people’s Shazams playlist, because there is no link at all. Here is a glimpse of mine: from 2015 track Carnage to alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins passing by the electro italo-disco song Climax to latest discovery track Honey.

*Fun fact: most of the songs i shazam never make it to my actual playlist set.
